Fun at New Braunfels' Children's Museum

Today, we spent part of the day at the Children's Museum.  The kids were able to stayed very entertained for several hours.  No fits, no tantrums, just good ol' fun! Which, to me, was worth every penny we spent there. They played at the grocery store, the space shuttle, the ambulance and many other centers.  Lastly, we went outside where there was a huge area with all kinds of water toys. We ended up having to buy the kids a shirt because they got soaking wet. They also had a chance to paint a cute little old VW Beatle that was there.

Later, we ended up eating at Freddie's.  Carson loved their french fries, Natalia really enjoyed their ice-cream, and Luke just enjoyed it all.

We were only about 8 miles away from San Marcos, so we ended up going to the Outlet Mall.   Oh wow, I loved going in Pottery Barn.  They had it all!  I must go again soon (with money, lots of it).

To finish off the day, Dave and I had a chance to go out to dinner, while the kids stayed at home with my parents.

So, I thought I was the only one having a good day, until I got home

All relaxed after my massage and facial, I walked in the house and found everybody outside. Daddy bought each one of them their own shovel, so they definitely had to use them somehow. So, they went to get all kinds of gardening stuff.  When I got there, they were all planting vegetables and flowers in several pots.  They were having a blast.

After all that work, it was time to cool off, even though it was about 71 degrees outside.  So, Daddy got them soaking wet.  I don't know how the kids were able to handle that water.  It was so cold.  ~What a great day they had!

What a day...

Today, things were a little bit different at work.  Once a year, a vendor invites all the property managers from San Antonio, Houston and Austin to her house.  She provides us with yummy food, drinks, desserts, massages, pedicures and facials.  Talking about relaxing...She has a beautiful house in the middle of no where.  All you can see from her living room are horses, cows, longhorns and lots of trees.  Oh, this day, I wish it would've gone a lot slower.  I really enjoyed my day out in the country (I can't believe I forgot to take pictures).

After that pampering, we stopped by supposedly the best BBQ place in this area.  It really didn't look very promising from the outside, but you can never judge a book by it's cover.  So, we decided to stop and give it a try.  I'm so glad we did - it was very good.  Dave even claims it being better than Rudy's.

Oh what a wonderful day I had!

Enough is Enough!

After such a busy day with all the responsibilities a 2 year old has, there comes a point when enough is enough!  Well, right after dinner, Luke decided that it was time to call it the day.  So, the fastest way to do that was to turn around in his booster seat and, simply, fall asleep.  Hey, why not?

Guilty Conscience

Okay, so I was already feeling a little guilty, but I decided to do it anyway. I went through my purse and after a while I finally found enough change to get some M&M's. I'm still trying to decide if this is a good choice or not, knowing very well what the answer to this question was. Finally, I decided that after having the kind of day that I'm having, M&M's might help me feel a little better. So, I put the coins in the slot. I can already taste them. I press E6, and don't you know...they get stuck! I guess I was not supposed to eat them afterall. I didn't even get mad. I just took it as a sign.

Whose turn is it now?

Okay, again, this is not one of my favorite pictures of Luke, but I just had to take it so that you can see what I have to go through.  I know, it's hard to believe that sweet little Luke looks like this from time to time.

On my way home from work, I was just thinking about how I've really enjoyed Luke lately. He is just a fun little fellow...not this evening.  He probably had, oh I don't know, between 3 - 4 tantrums within 2 1/2 hours.  He got a spanking, he got put in his room and I don't know what else, and nothing seemed to work.

Thank God Carson was a little angel tonight - he even ate all his peas.  God knows how much I can handle and so does Carson!

Oh boy!

So, as soon as Natalia wakes up in the morning, she starts talking. And she will not be quiet, not even for a second, until she goes down for the night. This is not one of my favorite pictures of her, but I had to take it this morning because, to be honest with you, I almost lost it!
So, this is how a morning normally goes for us. I wake up and get ready. Then I wake up Natalia. Sometimes she is okay and some days she just doesn't want to get out of bed. So, that would be fight #1. After cuddling for a while, we either have our short devotional (with the boys too) or we go into the kitchen to eat breakfast. Sometimes she does fine but sometimes, like today, she sits at the table for a very long time until she finishes drinking her milk. Okay, so this is fight #2. You might be thinking, "oh, not a big deal." The problem though is that she doesn't only sit there. She complains and cries and says things like "why do you always make me drink my milk," "you put so much milk in here," "I don't want anymore milk," "why are you always so mean to me." To top it all of, all these little phrases are being said in a whine little voice, which by the way, drives me off the wall. --Now, before you start feeling sorry for her, let me tell you that the cup wasn't even half way full and the cups are not that big either. I really wasn't being unreasonable here. Okay so, finally she finishes all of her milk. After eating, she knows she is to go to the bathroom and brush her teeth. Alright, so we are doing good...she goes to the bathroom and I can hear her washing her hands and singing and laughing and talking-I mean - screaming and so on as so forth. Finally, after 10 minutes of this, I go into the bathroom and I see water all over the mirror and the counter top. And the toothbrush is just sitting there staring at her. So, I'm sorry but, this is fight #3. Wow, what a morning. So after all that, I just had to breath deep, count to 100 (backwards) and take this picture of her. I have to remind myself on mornings like this that she, one day, will grow up and I will not have any of this anymore. And to be honest with you....I'll miss it (believe it or not.)
