Staying Cool on a Hot Summer Day

Dave needed to go to a soccer coach meeting on Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., so I invited Elizabeth to go swimming with us at the Wellness Center. Little did I know that Dave was going to have enough with the meeting just a few hours after he showed up, so he met us at the pool at about 11:00 a.m.
Luke is our little fish! He is not afraid at all. He really thinks he can swim. According to Elizabeth, he almost drowned about 50 times in the 3 hours we were at the pool.
Carson also swam like a fish - non stop. He got some good exercise!
And Natalia, also swam, jumped in the pool, floated on her back, and played...
The kids were having so much fun, so we took advantage of that and didn't leave the Wellness Center until 1:00 p.m. Just enough time to eat lunch and get ready for PawPaw's 90th birthday party...

Wild West Fun Fest

I was so looking forward to this, but things didn't go as planned.  We took the kids to Enchanted Springs Ranch in Boerne.  Supposedly, we were there to experience an authentic old western town!  The ranch was cute and there were some exotic animals, but what we were looking forward to was the camel ride.  Now, how cool would that have been.  Well, the camels were not there.  They were filming a movie.  We still had fun though.  And the most important thing was that we were able to spend time together as a family.
Luke was feeling a little under the weather,
so he sat in his stroller most of the time.

Wild West Reenactment

Now, can somebody explain to me how Carson can be scared of dogs
after petting this thing?????

Enjoying their new cowboy guns! - Great!

Sunday Fun

Before Dave had to go back to Beaumont, we went to play a little tennis and also played on the playground. It was hot, very hot. Look at those hot, dirty and sweaty little faces...

Everybody was sad to see that Daddy had to go back to Beaumont. We decided that WALL-E would ease up the pain. We cleaned up and after we said good bye to Daddy we went to the movies. Luke was falling asleep in the car on our way there. I didn't know how that was going to work out, but once he walked into the movie theater, he was fine. As a matter of fact, this was Luke's very first time to go to the movies. All three enjoyed the movie very much. They sat still throughout the whole thing. It was the perfect ending to a wonderful and fun weekend!

A Day at Landa Park

I was expecting a lot more from our Saturday outing, but it was still a fun day. By the time we left the house, it was already lunch time so we went to Mr. Gatti's. We've had better pizza, by the way. The kids were able to play some games. I really think Daddy spent most of the coins there though. His excuse was that he was helping them with some of the games.

I just love this picture of Natalia and Daddy talking while eating lunch.

After lunch we went to Landa Park in New Braunfels thinking it was going to be as beautiful as in the pictures I saw on the web...well, I was a little disappointed. We played minature golf, which the kids enjoyed very much and then we rode the little train. It was fun, although we could've done that in San Antonio.

Oh yea, and this is Luke enjoying the train ride:

I know, I know, I know

I stopped blogging and now all of a sudden, it seems as if I can't stop.  It's just that there is so much going on and I have to post it.  Going back to our weekend with Daddy...

Daddy was such a good sport this past weekend.  Saturday morning, we went to see my cousin's daughter Elizabeth compete.  For the past two years, she has been horse back riding and loving it. I remember her love for horses since she was a little girl.  The competition started somewhat late so we were not able to stay for the whole thing.  But the kids enjoyed hearing, seeing and touching the horses.

After all that excitement, we went home to eat lunch and to rest a little.

Then at 5:00 p.m., we went to the parade.  That's right, we went to the Battle of Flowers Parade!  The owners of the Aztec (the building I manage) allowed me to bring the people I work with and their families to the Aztec to watch the parade.  We brought food and we watched the parade from the 2nd floor.  Good set up, if you have kids.  Dave wasn't too excited about this - as a matter of fact, he hates parades, crowds and traffic.  And as you can imagine, we experienced all three.  He did so good though.  He was such a trooper.  We finally got home around 11:30 p.m.
  Dave enjoying the parade!

Ladies I work with.  Left to right, Yolanda - Property Manager (I've known her for 14 years); Sarah-Assistant Manager; Peggy (Assistant to the Leasing Agent and NHRA racer - click on her name to read more about it) and last but not least Terese - Accountant and Property Manager (I have known her for about 10 years).

Once again, having fun with Daddy!

I should've known that the kids and Daddy were going to have a blast while I was gone. On Friday, I had to run an errand. I wasn't even gone that long, but Dave doesn't need a lot of time! One thing I know, Dave has acquired a lot of experience while remodeling our home. He decided that watching Star Wars for the 10,000th time was just not good enough. So, they decided to build a fort. I've built forts before, but nothing like this. The kids were so comfortable in the fort that we had a hard time convincing them to go to bed. And Dave was so proud of it that he wanted to sleep in his fort! He is such a kid :0).

Fun at New Braunfels' Children's Museum

Today, we spent part of the day at the Children's Museum.  The kids were able to stayed very entertained for several hours.  No fits, no tantrums, just good ol' fun! Which, to me, was worth every penny we spent there. They played at the grocery store, the space shuttle, the ambulance and many other centers.  Lastly, we went outside where there was a huge area with all kinds of water toys. We ended up having to buy the kids a shirt because they got soaking wet. They also had a chance to paint a cute little old VW Beatle that was there.

Later, we ended up eating at Freddie's.  Carson loved their french fries, Natalia really enjoyed their ice-cream, and Luke just enjoyed it all.

We were only about 8 miles away from San Marcos, so we ended up going to the Outlet Mall.   Oh wow, I loved going in Pottery Barn.  They had it all!  I must go again soon (with money, lots of it).

To finish off the day, Dave and I had a chance to go out to dinner, while the kids stayed at home with my parents.

So, I thought I was the only one having a good day, until I got home

All relaxed after my massage and facial, I walked in the house and found everybody outside. Daddy bought each one of them their own shovel, so they definitely had to use them somehow. So, they went to get all kinds of gardening stuff.  When I got there, they were all planting vegetables and flowers in several pots.  They were having a blast.

After all that work, it was time to cool off, even though it was about 71 degrees outside.  So, Daddy got them soaking wet.  I don't know how the kids were able to handle that water.  It was so cold.  ~What a great day they had!

Annual Easter Egg Hunt @ the Ivey's

Oh we had so much fun! We had a chance to see other people we normally don't get to see very often and the kids had fun fishing, riding the boat and of course, getting those easter eggs. Natalia went her own way with Hannah. Those two are inseparable! It's a miracle I got pictures of her. Carson, this year, decided he only wanted blue easter eggs in his "easter bucket" and Luke, well, he almost missed the easter egg hunt because he was too busy fishing with Daddy.

But, after the easter egg hunt they all got to go fishing and they all caught fish! Carson was a little disappointed that we didn't cook the fish he caught though.

What a day we had today...

We had a full day today. First of all, we got donuts for breakfast, of course. Then the kids went with us to vote. We had a chance to talk about voting and all that stuff. Ya know, always looking for those "teachable moments".
We went to Lowe's, afterwards, and the kids got to build a squirrel feeder. They had a blast working on their own squirrel feeder, although, I think Luke enjoyed those goggles more than anything!

We also had a chance to go putt-putt. The weather really cooperated with us. It was starting to get warmer, which made our time out there more enjoyable.

It was about lunch time, we were getting hungry and wanted to go out to eat, but the kids wanted to go back to Grannie's house. Lunch at Grannie's is a lot more enjoyable, you know. You get to eat whatever you want, and by that I mean, whatever you want.

After lunch, per Carson's request, we took Freund for a walk. By the time we got back, it was time to go to the park for a Sunday School social. We all enjoyed this time of fellowship. Natalia got to play with Hannah and other friends, Carson played Tennis with Daddy and Daddy's friends (I'm sure they appreciated that) while Luke cuddle with Mama (since he was a little tired from staying up late the night before and no nap.)

Last but not least, we had dinner with family and friends. And of course, the kids and Daddy got to watch a little Star Wars tonight. All this to say...I am tiered.
