Still Under Construction

I don't think construction will ever stop at our house.  Last week, Dave finally was able to install the pantry door!  Yay!  I'm super excited about that.  You must understand, that curtain was not cutting it.

Dave also finished running the electrical to the study, which was a lot harder than what it sounds like.  He had to crawl under the house.  Pretty tight fit.

After the electrical, he finished taping, floating and texturing "his" new office.  For those of you who don't know, "his office" is part of the porch that we enclosed right on the other side of the fireplace.

All we were missing was deciding on a color, so during lunch one Sunday, we were trying to decide.  Natalia and Carson thought that it would be a good idea to paint it Aggie color.  Luke wouldn't have anything to do with that.  For several days, he went around saying, "No, me no like A&M, me like Longhorns."  ~Sorry Daddy!!!!!

Our Little Rebel!

Finally, we decided on this color....and the kids enjoyed helping out!

Plywood vs Mortar

In Beaumont, while everyone was at Lowe's buying plywood, batteries and generators on Sunday morning to get ready for the hurricane, Dave was buying mortar!!!

I'm telling you, he can't stop.  He just took this as an opportunity to get some work done around the house.

I'll post some pictures of the finally project later.  This is just a little preview.  Tomorrow, he'll be applying the grout and the backsplash will be finished!

Update - Unpacking

Alright, so I'm finally getting a chance to blog :0)!

Here are two photos from Saturday.  I've been meaning to take more pictures, but I've been a little pre-occupied with Natalia's first day of school, Luke's follow-up ENT's appointment, the boys' open house, unpacking, running errands and so on and so forth.

The house is coming along though.  My mom has been wonderful.  I could have not done it without her! Also, my mother-in-law has been so helpful.  She has fed us every night!  And as mentioned before, not only did Susan and Elizabeth give up their Saturday to help me, but look at how much fun they were having:

And as always, Matt being so helpful!
He did mowed our grass on Monday though!  ~Thanks Matt, we really appreciate you guys.

Chaos

I'm at my in-laws house for dinner, so I have access to internet!  I decided to update you on my situation.  I don't think I need to say much.  These pictures pretty much speak for themselves:

The boys room
Do you feel sorry for me yet?

But thanks to my Mom, Susan and Elizabeth, my house looks a lot better now.  My kitchen is done and a lot of those boxes are gone.  I'll post more pictures as soon as I can.
