Tienda Paseo del Rio Grand Opening!

Tonight, was the grand opening of Tienda Paseo del Rio, my Dad's store at the Market.  My poor Dad came from Guatemala tuesday at about midnight and then yesterday and today he was at his store getting everything set up for tonight. It was rushed, but somehow like always, he had it all ready to go. As soon as we walked into the store, the kids had already picked out what they wanted to get.  They were so excited that they could get whatever they wanted without paying!  A store across from him was also having their grand opening and they had food catered and hired Mariachies.  When Carson heard them playing and singing he began to jump up and down and clap his hands.  He got so excited to hear the music that he could not stop moving.  Now, Carson is determinate to get a trumpet to wake up Lia!

As we were leaving the Market, we saw a crowd and more cops than normal, as nosy as my Dad is, he asked what the commotion was all about.  The cops told him that President Clinton was eating just across the street from the Market at Mi Tierra.  Oh, so close, but yet so far!

"Goodnight moon".... goodnight light and the red balloon

David, who is the one who keeps up with all this kind of stuff, called us tonight as we were leaving church and informed us about the lunar eclipse. We rushed home and got ready for bed. After all that, we went out the backyard with our binoculars to enjoy the Total Lunar Eclipse. We had the laptop ready to read all about it and to look at photos, since it was a little cloudy tonight. No problem though, we got to talk to Daddy on the computer while we spent quality time together admiring God's wonderful creation!

Happy Valentine's Day!

The kids were so excited to see what they were getting for Valentine's Day. Luke, of course, woke up first and went straight to the kitchen table, where all the goodies were. Then came Carson and then Lia.

It has been my tradition, for some reason, to always get each one of them a book and a few pieces of chocolate for Valentine's Day. This year, I decided to get them a Bible. Natalia got a hot pink Bible, Carson got a blue (his favorite color) Bible and Luke got a cool brown with orange Bible. In addition they got a gift from Mami.

We missed Daddy terribly this Valentine's Day. But Daddy was able to make it up to them by sending them a letter that made each one of them smile from ear to ear. Later, Carson just couldn't wait any longer to call Daddy to talk with him.
We put everything aside so we could eat our pancake's on our special Valenitne's plates, but of course, Luke decided to throw a tantrum...surprise, surprise! Anyway, after breakfast we took some pictures. Between my mom trying to figure out how to use my camera and Luke crying his head off...this is what we got. Hope you enjoy them. -- Happpy Valentine's Day!

Weekend with Daddy!

Luke throwing one of the many tantrums.

We had a wonderful weekend! Daddy got home Thursday night. On Friday, he took a CE course at UT Health Sience Center. Friday evening after dinner, we went out for some ice cream. Later, the kids and Daddy watched the 2nd Star Wars movie, meanwhile, I slept on the couch. Saturday morning, we went to Bass Pro Shop to buy fishing rods and all that other stuff that goes along with the rods. In the afternoon, we went fishing. Natalia and Carson caught one fish each. Oh yeah, I almost forgot to mention that Luke threw approximately four tantrums througout the day. Yeap, you read it right FOUR! Sunday, we went to play tennis and later we washed the cars. We had a wonderful time with Daddy. It's amazing how he can even make washing cars fun. It was so hard to say good bye! We were all sad to see him go, and we are definitely looking forward to seeing him again.

Aztec Building

In addition to One Technology Center, I will also be managing the Aztec Building.  Today, I went to meet the tenants at the Aztec Building.  It is a beautiful old building built in 1926.  The building definitely needs a lot of TLC but it has so much character, which I just love.  On the first floor, it has a theater that has been recently renovated, which by the way, looks extraordinary.  The owner is a baron from Belgium. - I just think that is so cool.

Our first weekend away from Beaumont!

Not bad. First of all, we had to continue Daddy's and the kid's tradition. Saturday morning, we got in the car and as we were on our way to get donuts for breakfast, we sang "Well, I walked around the corner and I walked around the block and I walked right into a donut shop, and I picked up a donut and I licked off the grease and I handed the lady a five-cent piece. Well, she looked at the nickel and she looked at me and she said "this nickel is no good to me. There's a hole in the middle and it goes right through!" "Well, lady there's a whole in the donut too. Thanks for the donut. You bet!"

Visiting relatives...

After eating donuts, we visited some aunts and uncles and of course, Fritzie Boy, the dog.  We ate lunch and went to the park with uncle Esli and aunt Christy.
